She had treaded in the dark
Until spotting a flame
That danced in the mist
Arms and heart never to be tamed.
She walked to the edge
Jumped onto the bulwark
Quivering, was her body
Steady, her soul moved forward.
When the fire began to burn
And the light to unblind
They flicked the world off her shoulders, and
She spread her wings ready to fly.
Bird of no feathers
Reborn in courage
She is the very dance, or should I say
Just a dead seed that flourished.
